Seborrheic Keratosis

Seborrheic keratosis commonly known as a seborrheic wart, is a condition that causes wart-like growths on the skin. The growths are benign (non cancerous). They typically appear on the face, chest, shoulders or on the back and can develop in a single growth or a cluster. The exact cause of a seborrheic keratosis isn’t known, but they are very common and generally appear around your 40s, 50s or sooner if you expose yourself to UV light and/or sunshine holidays frequently.

They are known to also be hereditary and run within families.

Shortwave diathermy (electrolysis) safely and effectively removes these lesions with little to no side effects and are completely healed within a few weeks.

How does Seborrheic Keratosis removal work?

Seborrheic Keratosis are removed using short wave diathermy – a form of indirect current. Using a small needle, the current destroys the seborrheic keratosis and during the healing process it will fall off. A small scab may appear but should fall off within the 4 weeks of healing.

How many sessions are needed?

Typically, one session will remove the seborrheic keratosis, however, we invite you back in for a follow up session 4 weeks later to make sure it has healed correctly, and the results are as you desired.

Is advanced electrolysis painful?

Seborrheic Keratosis removal is considered a painless treatment, some clients may feel a slight discomfort, but this will quickly subside after the procedure.
