FAQs about HIFU treatments:
What can be treated with HIFU?
The targeted areas of treatment for the HIFU are an eyebrow and eye lift, skin tightening and lifting, jawline and submental sculpting and to smooth fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth. This is finally a treatment to correct the ‘jowl’ area!
How does HIFU work?
The Focus Dual HIFU ‘face-lift’ creates deep focus points of coagulative necrosis, in the SMAS (Superficial Musculo Aponeurotic System) layer through heat zones. These heat zones kickstart the production of collagen and elastin leaving you with youthful looking skin. The SMAS layer is immediately contracted without damage to the skin surface or surrounding tissues, this creates immediate tightening and lifting. The skin’s wound healing response is then triggered so the skin naturally starts to lift, firm, and tighten over time.
How many treatments do I need?
Treatments are carried out every 4-6 weeks and typically between 1 and 3 treatments are recommended for the best results. Top up sessions are performed as maintenance when required but usually only once or twice a year.
When will I start to see my results?
Results can usually be seen immediately, but the results get better and better up to 12 weeks post treatment as your collagen is renewed. We expect results to last 1-2 years, but this is dependent on lifestyle and maintenance.
Is there any downtime?
Due to the non-invasive nature of the treatment, there is virtually no downtime! Some clients can experience slight redness after the treatment and a small percentage may experience minor swelling, tingling or tenderness. You’ll be able to return to normal activities straight away, this is why the HIFU is referred to as the ‘lunchtime face-lift’.
